EMFIS® - Bridging Europe's Innovation with Abu Dhabi's Vision

EMFIS® emerged in 2022 as an independent third-party body focused on certifying EMF-safe buildings, marked by our groundbreaking EMF-shielded residential building.

Our mission traces back to 2014, when the first EMF shielded residential complex was envisioned. The Cocon Schmitten landmark development, located in the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland, was the first large-scale electrosmog-free housing project in the world (click here and there to learn more). EMFIS® is the brainchild of one the co-initiators of this pioneering project. This initial success propelled us to further our mission globally.

In 2023, EMFIS® strategically established itself in Abu Dhabi, aligning with the UAE’s ambitious goals for health and sustainable urban development. Here, we bring our deep-rooted European expertise in EMF sustainability to collaborate with Abu Dhabi's innovative government and dynamic real estate sector.

As members of the Sustainable Construction Network Switzerland, we carry forward the principles endorsed by the Swiss Federal Council's Sustainable Development Strategy, adapting them to the unique architectural and developmental landscape of the UAE.

In Abu Dhabi, EMFIS® finds a synergy between our mission and the Emirate's vision, fostering strong partnerships and contributing to a health-centric, sustainable construction paradigm. Our role transcends mere certification; we are a key player in supporting design, assessment, and planning for sustainable infrastructure and master planning.

Constantly evolving through scientific research, EMFIS® is set to be a leader in sustainable construction, merging European innovation with the UAE's forward-thinking approach to establish new global standards in sustainable, health-centric construction. 

From this strategic base in Abu Dhabi, EMFIS® is poised not only to influence the UAE but also to extend its impact across the Middle East and beyond, setting new benchmarks in EMF safety and sustainable living environments.
